Acting Governor Of Adamawa Disqualified From Elections

The Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri will not be contesting the state governorship elections due to hold on October 11.

This is due to the fact that he has been disqualified by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on “moral grounds”.

Fintiri was the Speaker of the House of Assembly and he spearheaded the impeachment of former Governor, Murtala Nyako.

The acting governor’s decision to run for office had been severely criticized with some accusing him of staging a coup.

His disqualification from the September 6 party primaries was announced by the Chairman of the PDP’s screening panel, Ibrahim Mantu.
