E'Dena Hines is reported to have been found lying in the street outside her home at about 3AM on August 16, 2015, with multiple stab wounds to her torso.
She was taken by EMS to Harlem Hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to reports.
Morgan Freeman reflected on her talent and how actively she participates in her community and touched the lives of those who knew her, "Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person" he said.
Investigation is still ongoing to capture the person who murdered her, but a 30-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene and taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center by NYPD.
